1) What is the first impression a guest should have from the moment they enter your hotel?
a) The “whow-effect”! They should be very happy with the welcome they receive and reassured at the same time that they have chosen well.
2) What distinguishes your hotel from other hotels in Mauritius?
a) Much, I would say. As we have just reopened, we are happy to present a new and stylish approach, just look at our rooms and new facilities and you will find many reasons for choosing our hotel.
3) What are you doing to bring Mauritius into your hotel?
a) We offer local entertainment of course, which is generally well liked by our guests, then we also organise activities like cooking lessons and locally themed shows like the Paul and Virginie show we did a while ago. And last but not least, we have a boutique dedicated to Mauritian arts and crafts.
4) Would you say your hotel embraces eco-tourism, or are there existing plans for any such project in the future?
a) Yes, we definitely do. As mentioned, we foster local arts and crafts through one of our boutiques. And we recycle our glass, plastic and paper. All Apavou hotels collaborate with Polypet, a local recycling company.
5) If a guest approaches you and enquires about a seeing a unique place or participating in one exciting activity outside your hotel, where would you recommend for them to go?
a) Of course this depends on the person, but offhand I’d say a nature site like our National Park. Mauritius has many of those to offer.
6) What is the most precious souvenir a guest should have after spending their holidays in your hotel?
a) The way we care for our guests.
7) What is your favourite place in the hotel?
a) Definitely the beach, which has been embellished and upgraded with the introduction of our new concept. And then there is this romantic spot up the river, we call it the Paul and Virginie-spot. It’s very romantic. We plan to put a little gazebo there in the near future.
